As part of a $7.6 million capital works upgrade to the School, Infinity Landscape Architects collaborated with Principal Design Consultants Select Architects and renowned Landscape Architect Perry Mills to produce an outstanding play and learning space with high environmental values. The landscape design and installation were delivered in accordance with the VSBA Building Quality Standards Handbook thus resulting in a highly creative, but safe play environment. Key components of the new landscape include:

  • Site contouring to direct and retain rainwater.
  • Natural timber seats
  • Bush poles with nesting boxes
  • Bush poles with shade sails
  • Stepping rocks
  • Seating rocks creating an outdoor classroom
  • Timber boardwalk
  • Locally indigenous plantings

Grovedale West Primary School is absolutely delighted with the outcome as the new environment embraces many of the school’s values. The school upgrade was the recipient of the 2024 Victorian School First Nations Design Award.
