Young children were excited to discover that their journey to the classrooms now passes closely to interactive sensory totem poles. The tactile, freestanding poles are themed and colour-coordinated with the surrounding landscape and building materials. Infinity Landscape Architects strategically placed quality totem poles, tree guards and robust, permeable fencing along pathways to protect plants from pedestrian traffic. As plants become established, they will be trimmed to the outside faces of the fences thus reducing the visibility of the fencing. Lush plantings of Elaeocarpus eumundi (Forest Olive), Hymenosporum flavum Gold Nugget’ (Dwarf Native Frangipani), Alpinia nutans (Dwarf Cardamom) and Pandorea pandorana (Wonga Wonga Vine) are now beginning to envelope the protected spaces between the portables.
